Zombie Teddy Bears

Some Love for Teddy Bears.....

A British artist has created a range of zombie teddy bears - just in time for Valentine's Day. Phillip Blackman describes his 'UndeadTeds' as "repurposed soft toys transformed into fluffy, bloody horrors to keep you awake at night".

The 45-year-old, who lives near Ipswich in Suffolk, makes them using old toys and movie-standard gory effects.

"The inspiration came from a rather obscure in-joke between my partner and I," he said. "She had a terrible cold at the time and we'd been talking about a gift for a friend's baby.
"With a very stuffy nose "teddy-bear" kept coming out as "deady-bear" and we joked about zombie teddies that creep from under your bed at night to feast on your brains while you sleep.
"I'd been a fan of the Romero-style Zombies since my teens and in my youth I had obtained some minor qualifications in theatrical and special effects make-up; specifically prosthetics and gore.
"I already knew how to make a person into a zombie, so why not use the same techniques and skills on the teddies!
"Each UndeadTed takes in excess of eight hours to make, not including the time it takes for glue, paint and varnish to dry.
"I price them individually depending on size, complexity, materials used and time taken. Most are listed at around the £40 to £60 mark.
"They've all been great fun to make but of all the ones I've made so far my favourites are the Valentine ones, holding their torn-out hearts aloft as a grisly gift to their lovers. Horrible."

iPoo?

The design, the impressive functionality, the distinctive logo - was it only a matter of time before Apple redesigned the humble toilet with the iPoo? The iPoo is literally a case of toilet humour and Belgrade designer Milos Paripovic. His work isn't intentionally related to the Apple brand.

Kleptomaniac Cat

A cat burglar who stole 600 items over the past three years has been outed as an actual cat, after a night-vision camera was used to capture footage of the feline.

Residents in San Francisco had initially wondered what was happening when clothes, teddy-bears and other small items started disappearing.

But it soon became apparent the crook was a kleptomaniac kitty called Dusty who kept returning home with other peoples belongings.

After setting up night-vision camera they recorded footage of him going out under the cover of night and dragging back his loot.

Dusty has now become a star after appearing on the TV channel Animal Planet.

Coca Cola secret recipe leaks online

Some love for Coca Cola?!

The top secret recipe of Coca Cola, which is kept locked in a steel vault in Atlanta city and guarded 24-hours a day, has reportedly been leaked by a website.

The ingredients of the drink, founded by John Pemberton, a medicinal pharmacist in 1886, have always been a mystery, reports the Daily Telegraph.

Thisamericanlife.org claims to have discovered a list in a photograph in a newspaper article giving the ingredients and exact quantities to make the drink.

The Feb 8 1979 edition of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution has a photo of someone holding open a book with a recipe claimed to be an exact replica of Pemberton's.

The recipe reportedly contains the exact measures of all the different oils needed for Coca Cola's secret ingredient, Merchandise 7X.

Despite making up only one per cent of the drink's total formula, Merchandise 7X is though to give the popular soft drink its unique taste.

The 'secret recipe' for the 'syrup' which forms the basis of the drink is said to be: fluid extract of Coca 3 drams USP, citric acid 3 oz, caffeine 1oz, sugar 30 (it is unclear from the markings what quantity is required), water 2.5 gal, lime juice 2 pints, vanilla 1oz, and caramel 1.5oz or more to colour.

The Merchandise 7X flavour, of which 2oz is added to five gallons of syrup, consists of: alcohol 8oz, orange oil 20 drops, lemon oil 30 drops, nutmeg oil 10 drops, coriander 5 drops, neroli 10 drops, and cinnamon 10 drops.

Teddy bears in need of a vacation?

Some love for your 'teddy bear'?!

Is your favourite teddy bear or stuffed animal desperately in need of a vacation?

Finnish firm 'Teddy Tours Lapland' has come up with one solution: holidays in northern Finland for that special stuffed friend costing from 110 euros to 170 euros (93.7-144.4 pounds).

The "Standard Journey" for teddies includes a trip around the northern town of Rovaniemi and is capped off with a visit to Santa Claus. The stuffed animal will also receive a gift, send a postcard to its owner and be sent home with holiday photos.
The "Luxury Journey" includes, on top of the standard journey package, a trip to a reindeer farm where the bear can feed Santa's reindeer.
"This is followed by a snowmobile safari. On safari, Teddy will try ice fishing on the frozen waterway and savour hot chocolate by the campfire," the firm said on its Web site, adding the whole trip will also be recorded on videotape.

Teddy Tours Lapland will also provide the bear, should you not want to send your own abroad or don't own one yet.

Currently the company only offers trips during the winter, but it is also planning summer programmes as well.

"People or living pets may not participate on these trips," the firm said on its Web site.
